Welcome to our FAQ page! Here you’ll find answers to the questions we receive most often about our mobile notary, loan signing, document translation, apostille, and field inspection services. Mobile Notary Services

Q. What is a Mobile Notary?

A. A mobile notary is a state commissioned notary public who travels to your location, whether it's your home, office, medical care facility, or other convenient place. I travel to you to notarize documents such as affidavits, powers of attorney, contracts, and more. I provide flexible, professional, and reliable service wherever you are.

Q: What documents can you notarize?

A: I notarize a variety of documents, including contracts, affidavits, powers of attorney, real estate documents, and other legal forms.

Q: Do you travel to Hospitals & Care facilities?

A: Yes. I provide mobile notary services directly at hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and skilled nursing facilities throughout Humboldt County. I offer afternoon, evening, and weekend hours as well to ensure flexible scheduling options. You can check out my Hospital & Care Facilities page for more information.

Q. Can you come to my home?

A: Yes. I provide mobile notary services at your home, or anywhere else that is convenient for you.

Q. Can you notarize my Trust documents?

A: Yes! I am very familiar with Estate and Trust documents. I would be more than happy to assist you with Trust Notarization.

Loan Signing Agent 

Q: What is a loan signing agent?

A: A loan signing agent is a notary trained & certified to handle mortgage and loan documents, ensuring all forms are signed correctly and notarized properly. I assist with refinances, purchases, HELOCs, reverse mortgages, and other loan closings. I maintain an annual background check and certification through the National Notary Association to provide peace of mind for the clients I serve.

Q: How do I schedule a loan signing?

A: Contact me directly or through your title company/signing service to schedule a convenient appointment. You may also let your real estate agent know you want to work with me.

Q: Can you print documents?

A: Yes, I have a dual tray laser printer, I offer document printing as part of my services.

Q: How long have you been a Certified Loan Signing Agent?

A: I have been a National Notary Association Certified Loan Signing Agent since 2022. Prior to this I have over a decade of consumer and business banking experience including loan origination, and signing.

General Questions

Q: How much do your services cost?

A: Pricing depends on the service, distance, and complexity. Contact me for a free customized quote. You may also look at my Areas Served page to get basic pricing for some of my frequently served areas.

Q: Do you offer same-day or emergency services?

A: Yes, depending on location and schedule. Call to confirm availability. After standard business hours after hour rates will apply. Please reach out to get a quote.

Q: How do I contact you?

A: Call or text 707-470-9410, email sboynton.ca@gmail.com, or fill out our contact form.

Q: What do I need to bring to our appointment?

A: Bring your completed unsigned document, and your current, (not expired) government issued photo identification, such as a Driver's License, State ID, or Passport. If you do not have a valid ID, please reach out to me to discuss options.

Q: What if I don't have an ID?

A: Please reach out to me directly to discuss what California Notary Law allows to be used in place of a current government issued identification in some situations.

Q: Can you provide witnesses in addition to notarization?

A: Yes, with advanced notice I can provide witnesses for documents. There will be an additional fee charged per witness provided.

Q: Can documents be notarized if the signer is not coherent and alert?

No. I can only notarize documents for individuals who are mentally aware, coherent, alert, and who demonstrate an understanding of what they are signing.

Q: Can you provide documents to me?

A: No. I can however print out a form or document that you have emailed to me. I am not an attorney and cannot provide legal advice.

Apostille Services

Q: What languages do you translate?

A: We provide certified document translations through our affiliate parter, they offer translation services in over 150 languages.

Q: Are translations certified?

A: Yes, all translations include a signed certification of accuracy. Please visit my Document translation page for more information.

Q: What is an Apostille?

A: An apostille is an official certification for international document authentication, recognized in countries that are part of the Hague Convention.

Can you help me obtain an Apostille?

A: Yes, I guide you through the process to submit documents to the proper authorities. If you need your documents back quickly express services are available.

Field Service Inspections

Q: What types of inspections do you provide?

A: I conduct property inspections, lien verifications, asset checks, GPS Installs, occupancy verifications, exterior property condition reports, 3d floor scans, letter postings, and other field-related documentation services.

Q: How do I schedule a field service inspection?

A: Contact me with property/site details and preferred date. I’ll provide availability, a personalized quote, and next steps.
